Lady Antebellum is comprised of singers Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley and backup singer and multi-instrumentalist Dave Haywood. The group began in Nashville back in 2006. Back then, Scott and Kelley were nothing more than children or siblings of professional country musicians. But, Hillary and Charles were driven to make it on their own, even if it meant taking advantage of these familial connections. Charles Kelley, the brother of singer Josh Kelley, moved to the capital of country music along with his childhood friend, Haywood. Next, Hillary recognized Charles on social media and soon the three musicians were performing as a trio.

The band derived its name from the mutual appreciation of the antebellum architectural style common on former plantation homes in the South. From the very beginning the band had a genre-bending nature that combined all the sound from the South. This meant one sound had to get them their start. That sound would be the adult contemporary sound. For, it was AC singer Jim Brickman who gave the band a beak while they were also busy writing songs for country musicians like Luke Bryan.

Eventually Lady Antebellum released its own work. Starting with the double-platinum self-titled debut album and followed by quadruple-platinum Need You Now and platinum Own the Night, the group quickly established itself as one of the best in the country universe.

This is why each of those three albums have not only reached number one on the country charts, but have even become chart-toppers on the Billboard 200. The singles have performed equally as well. Overall, Lady Antebellum have released 11-certified songs. The best known of these include “Need You Now”, “I Run to You”, and “Just a Kiss”.

In addition to the chart success and the overwhelming popularity of Lady Antebellum tickets, the band has been recognized by esteemed music associations like the Grammys. Overall, the band has been nominated for 11 awards, winning seven. This includes four awards for the song “Need You Now”. The song won awards for Record of the Year, song of the Year, Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals, and Best Country Song.
