Formed way back in the year 1983 and still going strong, that's L.A.Guns for you! A rock band that was formed in Los Angeles, California. They were most active throughout the 80s, when they released two albums "L.A. Guns" and " Cocked and Loaded ", which was a smashing hit and was also commercially successful. Presently there are two band touring with the same name. The front man of one band is Phil Lewis and the other one is fronted by Paul Black (featuring Tracii Guns). The original members of L.A. Guns hails from the band Guns N' Roses. Their music is similar to the scenario of glam metal, that was most popular during the 80s, around the Sunset Strip. They generally preferred an anti-social and their music and image is generally referred to as "sleaze". The group costumes consists of all black along with cowboy boots.
L.A. Guns was formed by former Guns N' Roses guitarist Tracii Guns, teaming up with singer Axl Rose, bassist Ole Beich, and drummer Rob Gardner. After some time Axl left the band to form Hollywood Rose. He was later replaced by Michael Jagosz. Next came Mau Maus and drummer Paul Mars Black from The Joneses, who later shifted to vocals and guitarist Mick Cripps, later he too switched to bass and was also joined by drummer Nickey "Beat" Alexander. After some time, ex Dogs D'Amour first singer, Robert Stoddard, joined L.A. Guns.

Guns released their self-titled first album in the year 1988, which was a minor hit. The success boosted their confidence and the following year, they released their next album "Cocked and Loaded" that really became a great success. The single "The Ballad of Jayne," from the album Cocked and Loaded was a great hit and also went gold. They released their next album "Hollywood Vampires" which was another big hit. It was critically acclaimed too and also peaked at number 42. After that, the band took some time off and didn't released any albums for the next four years. After the period of exile, L.A. Guns returned with great big boom and released their fourth album, "Vicious Circle", in the early of 1995. The album also proved to be a great hit and they had a core group of fans following them. It also captured the mainstream's attention. After the release of the album, the band saw many changes in lineup, with Johnny Crypt taking over bass and Guns remaining the band's sole guitarist. Later they were joined by new lead vocalist Chris Van Dahl, with him L.A. Guns released a new album "American Hardcore" in the year 1996's that fared well. In the year 1999, the band released another album "Greatest Hits & Black Beauties", which was a collection of some of theirs re-recorded favorites and also contained some new material. This album also featured some new vocalists they are Ralph Saenz (on 1998's Wasted EP) and Love/Hate singer Jizzy Pearl. That same year, the group released a Gilby Clarke-produced collection of new material, that was titled "Shrinking Violet". The lead vocalist of the album was Pearl. In the year 2001they released another album "Man in the Moon" that was produced by Clarke, again. This album also saw the return of Phil Lewis and Mick Cripps to the lineup, and also Riley, the former member of Pretty Boy Floyd and Keff Ratcliffe and another new bassist.
In the year 2005, the band released the album "Tales from the Strip" and in the year 2006, they released a live compilation that featured the current line up of the band, known as "Loud and Dangerous: Live From Hollywood" which includes a DVD of some recent live tracks as part of the package.
