In 1966 a hit single of Kris Kristofferson was released by Dave Dudley, Viet Nam Blues. The next year he was signed by Epic Records. In next few years man other numbers of Kris were released such as From the Bottle to the Bottom, Jody and the Kid, Once More with Feeling, Your Time's Comin, Best of all Possible Worlds, Darby's Castle and some more. All these songs were hit on the charts and were performed by other artists such as Roger Miller, Roy Drusky, Ray Stevens, Billy Walker & the Tennessee Walkers and Faron Young. At the Newport Folk Festival, Kris was introduced by Johnny Cash himself giving more success to Kris.
In 1970 the first album of Kris Kristofferson was released titled 'Kristofferson' released on the Monument Records. There were sixteen songs on the album like Duvalier's Dream, Me and Bobby McGee, The Lady's Not for Sale, Best of All Possible Worlds, Darby's Castle, Come Sundown, Blame It on the Stones, Casey's Last Ride, Sunday Morning Comin' Down, Shadows of Her Mind, To Beat the Devil, For the Good Times, The Law Is for the Protection, Just the Other Side of Nowhere, and Help Me Make It Through the Night.
In the following years he released more albums with many of then being very successful such as 'To the Bone', 'This Old Road', 'Third World Warrior', 'The Austin Sessions', 'Natural Act with Rita Coolidge', 'A Moment of Forever', 'Shake Hands with the Devil' and many more.
