King Crimson
This is a musical group founded by guitarist Robert Fripp and drummer Michael Giles.
Formed in 1969, their musical style is termed as progressive rock, however one finds,

Although, Robert Fripp, is the only consistent member of the group, for him "King Crimson, is a way of doing things ", the name of the group was given by Peter Sinfield ,
A lyricist, however there's something interesting about the group's origin, it all
Started when Michael Giles (a drummer) and his brother Peter, had placed an ad,
For a singer, and Robert Fripp who played guitar, but couldn't sing responded to the ad,
And they were happy by his performance, thus the trio formed a band and even recorded an album together, named "The Cheerful Insanity of Giles, Giles and Fripp", however,
It was not successful.
Fripp and Giles however discussed on the formation of a new Band, thus a new band was formed, in November of 1968 named "King Crimson", and the first album was released in October titled, In the Court of the Crimson King, and was a instant a hit. The band
Became a success overnight with the release of this.
In 1970's King Crimson, saw a lot of changes in terms of members moving out and new members moving in; however the trio of Fripp, Sinfield, and Lake, stayed for a while.
It was during this time that material was written for King Crimson's second album, "In the wake of Poseidon". In the 1980's, Fripp and Bruford began thinking of forming a new group and they decided to call it " Discipline " , however , it did not happen and thus "King Crimson", was reborn .
