In 1984, Canadians Dave Foley, Bruce McColloch, Scott Thompson, Kevin McDonald and Mark McKinney formed the sketch comedy group,"Kids in the Hall" . This was also the name the group used in their television shows from 1989 to 1994 on HBO, CBS and CBC. In Calgary, Mark McKinney and Bruce McCulloch performed under the name "The Audience" while Dave Foley and Kevin McDonald performed as "kids in the hall" in Toronto. The four met in 1984 and began performing as "Kids in the Hall". Paul Bellini, was a temporary member. However, Kids in the Hall" as we know was formed after Scott Thompson joined in 1985. They disunited for a while when SNL invited Mark and Bruce to New York. Dave Foley worked in a poorly received movie "High Stakes" while Scott and Kevin was with the "Second city" group. They united in 1986 and Lorne Michaels (producer of Saturday night Live) sent them to NY for comedy boot camp. In 1988, their pilot aired in HBO, a year later their series began
