Kenny Lattimore is one of the most successful American R&B singers. Born on April 10, 1970, in a musical family, Kenneth Lee Lattimore also doubled up as songwriter. In his decade-old career as a singer, he has delivered many single hits and has also tasted success as a songwriter. The most popular hits of Lattimore include ‘Never Too Busy' and ‘For You'.

Lattimore's interest in music was developed during his years as a high school student. He for the first time took keen interest in music in the high school band program while he was studying at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, Maryland. He won many talent shows at his junior high school. Throughout high school he performed music, both classical and R&B. He has given credit to Dr. Baker for setting him on current path. Lattimore also had given a speech at the 2005 Eleanor Roosevelt High School Graduation.

Lattimore joined a R&B group called Maniquin in the late 80s. During this time, music was more of a hobby than profession for him. It was in In 1987, that the group signed with Epic, and after two years, they released their debut album. The record was not a hit. The group spent a year or son on tour without much success. Ultimately in 1990 Lattimore left Maniquin.

By this time, music had gone into his head and Lattimore began to take music seriously. It was going to his career path and profession. He started writing songs and also collaborated with a number of artists. Glenn Jones and Jon Lucien recorded his songs. He began working with Dem Twinzz and sang on the group's demos. Major labels were attracted by the tapes and this made even more ambitious. Having gathered enough experience, he moved to New York City in the year 1993 to pursue a career as a solo artist.

After facing initial struggle in New York, Lattimore finally recorded a demo of songs, which were co-written by him. Produced by J. Dibbs, the demo was successful enough to land him a record contract with Columbia. His debut album ‘Kenny Lattimore' was released in 1996. Of the twelve songs, he co-wrote six songs. The album did well commercially and also did well enough to give birth to a star in Lattimore. ‘Never Too Busy' was a big hit.

This success was followed by ‘From the Soul of Man' which was released in 1998. A sensual version of ‘While My Guitar Gently Weeps' was a surprise hit. Other hits were ‘Days Like This' and ‘If I Lose My Woman'. In 2001, after a short hiatus, his third album ‘Weekend' was released with a new label – Arista.

In 2002, he tied the knot with R&B singer Chanté Moore. ‘Things That Lovers Do' a duet with his wife was released in 2003. It consisted of classic soul songs from the 70's and 80's and also two new original songs. ‘Days Like This: The Best Of Kenny Lattimore' followed in 2004 again with a new label Columbia/Legacy. His last album ‘Uncovered/Covered' released in 2006 is also a duet with his wife. It debuted at number 10 on the Billboard R&B Charts.
