About Kelly Clarkson
Kelly Brianne Clarkson was born on April 24, 1982 in Burleson, Texas. Kelly got involved with the idea of singing at a relatively late age. When she was thirteen years old, she was approached by a teacher in her middle school to join the choir. The invitation was only made after she was heard singing in the hallway. When she was done with high school, Kelly took a chance and moved to Hollywood with the dream of becoming famous. Eventually she was an extra on the television show Sabrina, The Teenage Witch. However, soon after her apartment burned completely to the ground.
Kelly then had no choice but to move back home with her family. She then started working as a cocktail waitress in Arlington, Texas. In 2002, her friends urged her to try out for the new show from Fox, American Idol. She made it as a finalist.

 In 2003, she released her self entitled debut album. Her first single was 'Miss Independent' which definitely showed off her powerful voice. Earlier in the year she filmed a movie with the American Idol runner-up, Just Guarini. The title of the movie was From Justin to Kelly, unfortunately it did not perform well at the box office.
However, it did not take anything away from her popularity. She even was nominated for a Grammy for her single 'Miss Independent.' She has released a DVD and is now currently touring with fellow American Idol participant, Clay Aiken. Don't miss this future superstar!
