There is even a new single to go along with the album and tour, "Dark Side".
Kelly Clarkson is one of the few winners of America Idol that has been able to outlast the 15 minutes of fame that follow the show. She won the first season of the addictive television show and struggled for the next few years trying to find her sound. Despite the struggle, she has been able to put out Kelly Clarkson tickets to much fanfare as they have been supportive as she has taken control of her own image.
Clarkson grew up in Burleson, Texas, just outside of Fort Worth. In 1988, when Kelly was six, her parents divorced and her once stable family unit was shattered. She lived with her mother, her older brother lived with her father, and her older sister lived with her aunt. The split and the financial hardships were tough, but Kelly found solace in music, dreaming one day of selling out tickets and releasing platinum records.
When it came time to go to college, she turned down scholar ships to the University of Texas at Austin, the University of North Texas, and Berklee, instead choosing to follow the dream that got her through so many tough times. She won the fan vote in the inaugural season of American Idol and immediately took all that material she had been saving and released a pop album. The album, Thankful, charted well and Kelly Clarkson tickets were quick to disappear from the box office.
Her first album went platinum, but it was her second album, Breakaway (2004), that made her a true global idol. Breakaway helped redefine Kelly Clarkson as her own artist, and not as a pop machine created act from American Idol. She added more rock to her style, but initial reaction to the change was lackluster. Eventually she would win over a new fan base with singles Behind These Hazel Eyes, Because of You, and Walk Away. The new sound spurred the album on to multi-platinum certification in several countries and sold plenty of Kelly Clarkson tickets for the promotional Addicted Tour.
The third album, My December, came in 2007 was hindered by conflicts with management. The conflicts forced her to switch to Starstruck Entertainment. The switch helped her regain some of the steam she had lost. Her arena tour was switched to a tour of more intimate venues and the album eventually went platinum. Kelly Clarkson tickets sold quickly for the visits to smaller venues once she gained traction again.
Kelly Clarkson released a fourth album, All I Ever Wanted, on March 10, 2009. The single My Life Would Suck Without You went double platinum in Canada, platinum in Australia, and silver in the UK and the All I Ever Wanted Tour proved a great success.
