Born on 3rd October, 1951 in South Central in Los Angeles, Keb Mo was named Kevin Moore by his family. As his parents belonged to Louisiana and Texas, Mo developed interest in gospel and blues music. Blues has been the forte of Keb Mo and he loves the genre more than anything else.

By adolescence, Keb Mo had already attained mastery in playing guitar. He bought his first guitar, a Silvertone at the age of twelve for $25. He also used to play two more instruments French horn and trumpet. Mo has been part of many bands. Mo played upright bass and drums in his first band. In the period of 1970s and 1980s he was a member of various backup and blues bands.

In the 1970s Keb Mo he worked with violinist Papa John Creach of Jefferson Starship for recording his first works. For the A&M Records he used to work as a staff writer and further polished his skills.

The first album of Keb Mo was a R&B album titled 'Rainmaker'. He became more engrossed in Blues music while working with Bobby "Blue" Bland lead band Whodunit Band. Her performed with Big Joe Turner and Albert Collins.

The self titled album of Keb Mo came in 1994. In the album he showed his devotion to the great blues musician Robert Johnson. The album won him popular and critical appreciation. His next album was 'Slow Down' released in 1998. this album also was a Grammy Award winning album. In 2000 came the forth album of Keb Mo titled ' Big Wide Grin '. The album with which Mo won his third Grammy Award was 'Keep It Simple' released on 10th February, 2004. In the same year another album by him was released entitled ' Peace... Back by Popular Demand'.
On 13th June, 2006 Keb Mo released 'Suitcase' having twelve tracks Remain Silent , Whole 'Nutha Thang , Life Is Beautiful, Still There for Me, I'll Be Your Water, I'm a Hero, I See Love, Eileen, Suitcase, The Itch, Rita, and Your Love.
