Kari Jobe was raised in a Christian home with a father who was a traveling minister, and began singing in church at the very young age of three years old. Kari recalls her mother playing worship music in their home as she was growing up and the constant feeling she had inside which put her on the path toward worship. Kari also remembers hearing a worship song that applied perfectly to a family she knew and knew right then that she wanted to write songs just like that for hurting people; songs that someone could speak to the Lord when they can't find the words.
As Kari got older, she attended Oral Roberts University, Christ For The Nations Institute, and Dallas Baptist University, getting her degree in Pastoral Studies and Psychology. After graduation, Jobe was asked to work as an associate worship pastor for Gateway Church in Southlake, Texas; a position she accepted at her church of six years.
Kari works alongside her father, Mark, in the church and has traveled on mission trips to lead worship all across the globe. Jobe is also a member of Gateway Worship, a Christian worship band associated with Gateway Church, and whose live album, Wake Up The World, debuted at #2 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart in 2008.

Aside from being a pastor and worship leader, Kari Jobe released her self-titled debut album in February 2009, her first major-label recording with Integrity Music/Columbia Records/Gateway Create. The album soared to #67 on the Billboard 200 list, #1 on iTunes' Christian music chart, and #3 on Billboard's Christian music chart. In conjunction with Kari Jobe is the release of Le Canto, a Spanish-language version of her first album. Prior to releasing Kari Jobe, she has released a compilation album also titled Kari Jobe, a live concert album titled Throneroom Worship: Live Acoustic Worship and a Christmas album titled Bethlehem.
Kari Jobe has also had two hit singles over the past couple of years; I'm Singing debuted at #13 on Billboard's Christian singles chart in 2008, and Healer debuted at #33 on Billboard's Soft A/C chart in 2009.
