Joe Tickets for Sale

Joe, or Joseph Lewis Thomas, is the R&B singer from Georgia that rose from a mere preacher's son to a Grammy Award nominated artist and famed record producer. His seven Grammy Awards nominations are a testament to his talent and to his dedication to his career, which began in 1993 when he was 20 and now has him selling out concert tickets wherever he goes.

Joe grew up in Georgia and Opelika, Alabama, moving to wherever his father was preaching the word of the lord. He used this experience to hone his musical skills, practicing singing, playing guitar, and even leading the choir along the way.

It was in his close proximity to religion and gospel that led him to listen to such gospel acts as The Winans, Commissioned, and Vanessa Bell Armstrong, though later on in life he would learn to love soul, especially acts like Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye.

Joe pursued his dream of being a musician after he graduated high school. He moved to New Jersey and worked at a gospel record store. Eventually he found the right people and recorded a three-song demo. That demo led to a deal with Polygram/Mercury records in 1993.

His debut album, Everything, struggled, but his song "All the Things" became a reoccurring favorite in Wayans Brothers movies, beginning with Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood. The record deal ended in 1995, with the movie soundtrack song the only hit on the album, but Joe would find another chance after signing with Jive Records in the same year.
It took two years, but Joe released another album. The album, All That I Am, proved to be a huge hit on the R&B charts and earned some notice on the Billboard 200. The singles All the Things Your Man Won't Do and Don't Wanna Be a Player were top five hits on the R&B charts and top 40 hits on the pop charts. Joe tickets suddenly received some notice from fans within the R&B genre.

Joe's third album, My Name is Joe, was released in 2000. The album again had several tracks, including I Wanna Know, which peaked at number two on the R&B charts and number four on the pop charts. The album was his second unquestioned hit, going platinum three times and earned four Grammy nominations.

The next few albums represented a slide in his popularity. His fourth album, Better Days, his fifth album, And Then…, and his sixth album, Ain't Nothin' Like Me, only achieved Gold certification despite strong showings on the R&B charts. Joe has alleged that his increasingly dwindling record sale numbers are the result of delayed releases and stalled recordings because of Jive Records relationship with R. Kelly.

Joe has continued to record his own material, but has also branched into producing as well. Still, Joe tickets are popular since his catalog of hits extends back to the 1990s. He has left Jive Records and has just released a new album, Signature. The new album has had a top ten showing on the charts and is on its way to Gold certification once again.
