An American country musician, Joe Diffie is considered by many musician as one of the best and melodious vocalists in the contemporary world of music. What makes his music unique is his sensibility of music that is traditional, humorous, tinged with rock novelties and plain ballads. Joe Diffie was born in the year 1958 in a family that was inclined to music. He gave his first public performance at the tender age of four, that too with the band of his aunt. Later studying in high school, he joined a rock band and started playing in the band and after some time moved on to a gospel quartet. He joined the band named Special Edition while studying in college which was a bluegrass band.

Later he left the band and started writing songs seriously and also practicing singing for the next few years. She first break came when his first single "Love on the Rocks" was recorded by none other than Hank Thompson. The song became so popular that Randy Travis recorded some of his songs. With this, Diffie was totally convinced that he had touched the right note in the business. He decided he should move on for greener pasture and so moved to Nashville in the year 1986. There he took up a job at the Gibson guitar plant while at the same time continued with his passion of writing songs. He also started singing whenever their were shows and with the passage of time became a demo singer.
In the year 1989, Holly Dunn collaborated with Diffie to record the song, "There Goes My Heart Again". The song unexpectedly turned out to be one of the major hit, and as a result Diffie became a famous singer overnight and was most sought after artist in the shows. Later, he signed up with Epic and released his debut album, "A Thousand Winding Roads", in the year 1990. "Is It Cold in Here" and "Ships That Don't Come In" was also a super hit. When he released his first single, "Home,", it was tremendous hit and it traveled all the way to reach number one on the country charts, and his next single too, "If the Devil Danced (In Empty Pockets)" also became a smashing hit and it also featured on number one on the country charts. But that was not the end of the super hits. He came out with two more singles from the album, "If You Want Me To" and "New Way (To Light Up an Old Flame)," and that was also super hit and it reached number two in the country charts again. "Honky Tonk Attitude" proved to be one of his ever biggest selling album ever. The title track, "Prop Me Up Beside the Jukebox (If I Die)," and "John Deere Green" featured in the Top Five. His other No. 1 hits are "Pickup Man", "Bigger Than the Beatles", and "Third Rock From the Sun". In the year 1995 he brought a holiday album entitled "Mr. Christmas", as well as another release "Life's So Funny", that gave Diffie his fifth number one hit. "A Night to Remember" which was based on the music of traditional country gave Diffie two Top Ten hits and also the single, "It's Always Somethin'." By the end of the 90s, Diffie lost the momentum of his chart. After sometime he left Epic Records after the release of his next album "In Another World" in the year 2001. After the completion of the album, he has been continually touring on the Rockin' Roadhouse with Mark Chesnutt and Tracy Lawrence.
