Jim Brickman was trained in classical piano. He bought a revolution to the sound of Adult Contemporary music with his style of playing piano in the pop-style. Apart from performing as a solo pianist, he has also performed with other vocalists such as Martina McBride, Michael W. Smith and many others. Jim Brickman was born on November 20, 1961. From childhood onwards he was interested in music and so he got admitted to the Cleveland Institute of Music in his late teens. Although he was given training on classical music, but he was attracted to mainstream music. He also used to write jingles for commercial purpose. He also started composing music for famous outfits such as the Gap, Isuzu, Sprint, Jim Henson and Henson Associates and Kellogs. While he was working with the Henson associates, he also composed for the Muppets and other similar projects on Sesame Street. Meanwhile, he also worked on Disney projects. In the year 1994 he released his debut album "No Words on Windham Hill". Then in the year 1995, on the same label he released By Heart. In 1997, he released a collection of seasonal favorites, "Picture This" as well as "The Gift". The following year he released Visions of Love and then in the early 1999 he released Destiny A Classy Live Effort. It was followed by My Romance:An Evening with Jim Brickman. After a span of two years he made a beautiful album for children Love Songs and Lullabies. Then came Grace, Peace and The Disney Songbook. In the year 2006 he left the label Windham Hill and joined Savoy Jazz. Under the new label he released his next album Escape.

Apart from playing Christmas songs, he also plays love songs and children's music. Brickman has also been hosting a radio show named Your Weekend with Jim Brickman. This show is broadcasted on all radio stations throughout the US. Apart from playing piano, he has also sang some songs. These includes "The Gift" along with Collin Raye and Susan Ashton, a love song that was instrumental, "If You Believe", "Rocket to the Moon" and "Angel Eyes". He also starred in some of the specials if PBC "My Romance: An Evening with Jim Brickman" and "The Disney Songbook", being the most recent one. He sponsored one of his first Jim Brickman Valentine's Day Cruise with Carnival Cruise Lines, in the year 2006. Brickman had a remarkable career as many of his albums went Gold and Platinum selling albums, three #1, twelve Top 10 Adult Contemporary radio hits, consistent debuts at #1 on Billboard Magazine's New Age chart, he was also nominated for the Grammy awards in 2003, he was also given the SESAC "Songwriter of the Year" award, a Canadian Country Music Award for "Best Vocal/ Instrumental Collaboration," a Dove Award presented by the Gospel Music Association for "The Gift."
