Hailed by many as being the Jimmy Buffet of country music, Walker has had a tremendous influence on country music as we know it today and has been one of the few musicians that has truly lived the life that he sings about.

Walker can easily be called the last of the great troubadours. It is rare to find musicians today that have shared the kind of experiences that Walker has gone through. In the 1950s he joined a local teen band called The Tones and the group headed out to try their luck on the Dick Clark Show. Though they weren't selected, the band was able to get a recommendation for an audition that ultimately ended in a record deal. Unfortunately the company was looking for a quintet, which meant that Walker and another member had to hit the road.

But Walker couldn't let the music go. After joining the National Guard, Walker went AWOL and spent a number of years busking along the countryside and traveling all across America. He later learned how to play the guitar and began to spend his early folk music years in Greenwich Village. He then met up with Bob Bruno and formed the band Circus Maximus, which was moderately successful and broke up when both members realized that musically they were heading in different directions. Walker headed out to Texas and became a staple on the country-rock outlaw music scene along with musicians like Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings.

Walker is perhaps best known for his song ‘Mr. Bojangles' which has been covered many times by artists ranging from Nina Simone to Phillip Glass to the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. The song refers to a folk character who was an alcoholic but possibly one of the best naturally gifted dancers in the country. Legend has it that he would tap dance at informal gatherings and reports say such a character may have in fact existed between the 1920 and 1960s.

Today Walker has moved away from the mainstream music labels and releases his music under his own label. His songs have become increasingly autobiographical and he has recently finished his own autobiography, which is also available for sale. Walker's son Diango is also a musician.

So don't miss this great opportunity to see the original Mr. Bojangles live in concert! Get to your online ticket vendor now and find out how you can get tickets to see Jerry Jeff Walker live in concert.
