Jeffrey Osborne Tickets for Sale

Jeffrey Osborne started his professional singing career in 1969 with a best-selling funk and soul group called Love Men Ltd, which moved to Los Angeles in 1970 and changed its name to L.T.D. Osborne was originally started as a drummer and gradually became the lead vocalist. Osborne modifies the songs into a contemporary masterpiece that is as musically and lyrically pertinent today as, when it originally hit the charts. He suspires fresh new life into these laurel compositions while he sustains the artistic integrity of the originals. He has one of the most identifiable voices in modern music as he intreprets some of the greatest pop and R&B songs of all time. After more than ten years with the band, he decided to pursue a solo career. Osborne's solo career has brought him five gold and platinum albums, including Stay With Me Tonight, Aymuk, and Only Human. He also recorded an album of duets with popular singer James Ingram, and scored an international hit with "On the Wings of Love" in 1982. His eponymic debut album was superb, wherein he mixed offbeat dance tunes such as "I Really Don't Need No Light" along with amicable ballads like "On The Wings of Love." Osborne-penned ballad masterpiece, "Congratulations," an emotional song of loss remains one of his greatest tracks. He went to score on the Soul charts and, to a lesser extent, on the pop charts, into the early 90s with urban adult contemporary hits such as "Let Me Know," "She's On The Left," "You Should Be Mine" and "Only Human," the latter of which appeared on his first and only Arista album. Osborne proceeds on to be one of the most admired, excellent, yet underestimated, soul music vocalists of the past 30 years. His writes powerful music, and his voice still sounds as good as always.

Jeffrey Osborne, born in Providence, was the youngest of 12 children and was perpetually barrageed with music as he was growing up. His father, Clarence "Legs" Osborne, was a favorite trumpeter who played with Lionel Hampton, Count Basie, and Duke Ellington, and died when Jeffrey was only 13. His mother, Wanita, is a ascendant of a Pequot Indian sachem. He had five brothers and six sisters, most of whom went on to have music careers. Osborne's father had the greatest influence on his musical career; to be with his family Clarence "Legs" Osborne turned down many top band offers during his career. It was only after he received his mother's approval, that Jeffrey went to Los Angeles to play with L.T.D. Fate brought him together with the band Love Men Ltd at a Providence nightclub in 1969. It was a self-contained soul/funk group named as Love, Togetherness and Devotion, or L.T.D. His affluent, expressive baritone soon moved him to lead vocalist position, and during his tenure the group scored multiple pop and soul hits on A&M Records, including the dance classic "Back In Love Again" and a string of memorable ballads such as "Stranger," "Where Did We Go Wrong?" and "Love Ballad".
