Jeffrey M. Foxworthy is a well known and one of the most loved American comedian. Jeff was born on September 6, 1958 in Atlanta, Georgia. He is very famous for his outstanding stand-up comedy. Jeff has been a member of the class of 1979 at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. He worked in mainframe maintenance at IBM for fiver years. Then he was encouraged to go for a career in stand up comedy when he won the Great Southeastern Laugh-off at Atlanta's Punch Line comedy club in 1984.
Jeff became the star of the comedy field after releasing his album "You Might Be a Redneck If..." in 1993. This album started the craze of his famous song "You Might Be a Redneck" and peaked the charts of comedy albums by selling over 3 million copies. He started his self starring show in 1995 named "The Jeff Foxworthy Show" which was a result of his stand-up comedy personality. The show was successfully aired on ABC, but was canceled after one season following some unknown reasons. Later, the show was picked up and aired by NBC but again canceled after one season. Following two cancelation, Foxworthy commented that the network couldn't make out the right way to market his humor as they assumed his routine "too Southern" for a national network. So they based the first season of his sitcom in Bloomington, Indiana. Nick at Nite and CMT are running the same shows that was earlier aired by ABC .
Foxworthy had a fresh revival of his comedy career following his successful "Blue Collar Comedy Tour" which he performed with three other comedians including Larry the Cable Guy, Ron White, and Bill Engvall. They toured around the nation specializing in common-man comedy and performing for record crowds. Though the tour was planned for 20 shows but extended further after the growing popularity and demands by their fans.
