Background- Jason Boland and his band the Stragglers carries with themselves the rapport of being the outlaw in the scenario of modern day country music.

The year 2006, was one of the most remarkable year for Jason Boland and his band the Stragglers. It is because of the fact that eight years back Jason and his band started their journey in the musical field and has been growing strong ever since their inception. It is also a remarkable year for them because they have recently released their much-awaited as well highly anticipated new record The Bourbon Legend. It was in the year 2004, that is two years back, Jason and his band had released Somewhere In The Middle. But this newly released album shows how the band has matured in terms of music since then. After listening to their music, you will have more and more respect for this band. Jason Boland expresses his feelings on the release of their new album, "This is the record we have always wanted to make. It is the right record at the right time and we really just let it flow."

After listening to the new album, you can only admit that the new contribution of Boland and the Stragglers to the country music, enters just at a time when all the reminisces of the ‘Outlaw' movement
have vanished from the conscience of the country musicians. This brilliant and talented group of musicians with their songs like, "No One left To Blame," and "Up And Gone" has given a wake up call, in time, to those musicians who has forgotten or has simply turned a blind eye to the ghosts of the past music. Their latest album, "The Bourbon Legend" emerges from musical influences, that is a mixture of both past and present music, thus bringing close a truly modern yet a vintage of country record. All the songs on the record shows that it shares a common bond with all its classical counterpart, thus proving to be a kind of re-generation of the outlaw country of ancient times.

The first single, "No One Left To Blame," carries the kind of heavy and similar overtones of the past music of great musicians like Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams Jr., but at the same time provides sharply defined musical dose of the present generations' various influences also. A number of songs on the record are greatly influenced by acts from the Marshall Tucker Band, Johnny Paycheck, Merle Haggard, and also others.

The album "The Bourbon Legend has been produced by Pete Anderson who is the winner of Grammy Award and is the first time that he has worked together with the Stragglers. According to Boland, their was an unique chemistry between he and Anderson which clicked just upon his arrival to the studio. Boland says, "Pete, taught us not to force things and to take a less is more approach.". Even Anderson liked working with Boland and his band the Stragglers, he says, "Working with Jason and his band on "Bourbon Legend. Jason and I shared a clear vision to make a real modern-day country album – and I feel we accomplished just that. I'm proud of Jason and I'm proud to have worked with him on this record."
