This rare skill made him a real life hero. It created a false persona, screen agent "Marty Power" that in other words is known as a fictitious person. At the time when he used to pose as Marty Power over the telephone, he used to attract lot many attention of the real agents and managers. Slowly, this art made him a professional and he used to book his performances. His first major motion picture role was as Randy Meeks in the films Scream, Scream 2. Then, he made a cameo in Scream 3.

He is also known as a best performer of stand-up comedy. His sketch performances on his television reality show, The Jamie Kennedy Experiment is unforgettable. The show eventually was the WB Network's highest ranking new show in 2002, however, later on it was cancelled in April 2004 owing to falling ratings. Jizzy Entertainment released Unwashed: The Stand-Up Special in 2006.

Thereafter, he floated a production company called Wannabe Producers in association with Josh Etting. It was through this company that he produced shows The Jamie Kennedy Experiment, Blowin' Up as well as The WB shows The Starlet and Living with Fran.

Soon after finishing off with Malibu's Most Wanted (2003), he co-wrote the MTV show Blowin' Up in 2006. It featured his friend Stu Stone. At the time when he was working on Malibu's Most Wanted, he had a ghostwriter Ellen Rapaport who penned a pseudo-comedic autobiography with the name, "Wannabe".

It narrates the factual incidents of life in the Hollywood slums, then a few attempts that left him discouraged at stardom and thereafter, his gradual rise to fame.

He has also performed minor roles without any hassles in a number of other films. He also lend his voice in the videogame ESPN NFL 2K5 as a celebrity adversary with his own football team, the Upper Darby Cheesesteaks. He is also a Free Agent.

Kennedy had also hosted Fuse TV's Fuse Fangoria Chainsaw Awards on October 21, 2006. His biography in the form of Wannabe picturises his struggle as a local lad who rose to fame with his consistency, perseverance and grit and determination.

James Harvey Kennedy was born on May 25, 1970 at Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, USA.

He is a well known American comedian and actor. His roles in The Jamie Kennedy Experiment (2002–2004), Randy Meeks in Scream (1996–2000) and Brad Gluckman in Malibu's Most Wanted would be remembered always by his fans for his immaculate piece of acting.

Born to a machinist father and an accountant and paralegal mother, he was the youngest of six children. He was raised in Catholic religion and graduated in 1988 from Monsignor Bonner High School. He studied acting in college. Thereafter, he started making his career as a Hollywood extra. He also honed his skills at voice impersonations to come up as a better actor.
