Jaheim Hoagland popularly known as Jaheim, is a multi-talented artist, but is famous as an American R&B singer. Jaheim Hoagland was born in the year 1978 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. He grew up in the city's 176 Memorial Parkway Homes public housing project. In the year 1981, tragedy struck him when he was only two years old, his father. He could overcome the tragedy with the help of his family members and also through music, since, he belong to the musical family. and also many pitfalls and dangers of his environment. His grandfather, Victor Hoagland, was a popular singer, who used to sing with many groups, such as The Drifters. Apart from this, their family get together used to be gala events and was always accompanied with big songfests. As a result Jaheim used to sing at this songfests as well as many local talent shows. He tried his luck at the Apollo Theater's which was considered as one of the most tough talent show. But Jaheim won the talent show, just at the age of 15, not once but thrice and he was also compared to Teddy Pendergrass and Luther Vandross.

Jaheim experienced more tragedy when his mother died, when he was only 18 years old. He was disheartened, but he kept up his faith in God and continued singing. His hard work and faith paid off and he became one of the sensational singer in the talent shows in New Jersey. After that their was no looking back, Jaheim on his own made a tape and supplied in the recording industry. Four years later, he signed up a contract with Divine Mill Records (a division of Warner Brothers). Through the label, he released his debut album, "Ghetto Love" in the year 2001. A year later he released his sophomore effort, "Still Ghetto" and as a result both of his efforts was a platinum success. He then released his first two singles, they were "Could It Be" and "Just In Case". As expected, these two singles were chart-toppers at the Billboard. When Jaheim released his first album, an all-star crew was part of the album such as RL (from Next), Blackstreet, and Darren and Cliff Lightly. Jaheim also worked with Mag so as to supply background vocals on the rappers' Hustlaz Heaven CD. He released his second album, "Still Ghetto", at the end of the year of 2002. After that Jaheim took a break from the music scenario. He returned to the music industry after a gap of four years, with his third album, Ghetto Classics. The album was released in February 2006 and it was an instant hit, not only this it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 selling for over 153,000 copies, just, in its first week. Besides, it produced the R&B hit single "Every Time I Think About Her".

A list of Jaheim albums are Ghetto Love, featured at #9 US (Platinum) in the year 2001, Still Ghetto in the year 2003 that appeared at #8 US (Platinum) and Ghetto Classics, appeared at #1 US (Gold) in the year 2006.
