Jakob Dylan noted for two facts, he is the son of Bob Dylan and he is the lead singer of the Wallflowers. The Wallflowers rose to fame in the late ‘90s, but have faded as the 21st century has progressed. Jakob has not stopped performing though, now he releases solo albums and sells Jakob Dylan tickets for his new musical direction.
As the lead singer of the Wallflowers, he first garnered national attention as simply the son of Bob Dylan. It eventually became clear he was not just in the rock business thanks to nepotism, but because he could sing, perhaps better then his old man. Jakob Dylan earned the respect of critics, his peers, and the fans as a Grammy Award winning, platinum-selling musician.
The Wallflowers have been fading since their impressive Bringing Down the Horse album in 1996. They have toured increasingly sparingly as a group, so naturally Jakob Dylan turned to the studio in search of his own album. His first solo album was released in 2008. Seeing Things brought him back into the musical fray. He toured the late night circuit, played summer festivals, and organized a few short headlining tours. The album peaked at number 24 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and failed to reach any kind of a certification.
