Incognito is an influential British band popular for its music and regarded as one of the cardinal members of revolutionary moment in jazz. They released their debut album, "Jazz Funk" in 1981 followed by eleven hit and popular albums. The band since its inception in 1981, is progressing and improving its sound under the leadership and guidance of composer, record producer, guitarist and singer, Jean-Paul 'Bluey' Maunick. Other noteworthy band members have included the singers Maysa, Jocelyn Brown and Carleen Anderson. Regarding the selection of name the renowned singer and band leader Bluey says, "Even the name Incognito was chosen because I wanted it to be ever evolving and changing. If you are in disguise then no one will recognize you and say this is the form that it is suppose to be, because we are always in disguise. The fact that it would come back with a different line up, different singers within the band-I thought Incognito would be a good name."

To date, band's sound and work has been contributed by over 1500 artists. Incognito earned intermittent success in the UK Singles Chart, with their mega hit, a cover version of the Ronnie Laws' tune, "Always There", featuring Jocelyn Brown. The band is well known for its wonderful remixes including Masters At Work, David Morales, Roger Sanchez and Jazzanova, and have launched three albums containing almost remixed tracks. The success chart of the Incognito has been adorned by many notable albums like "Positivity", "100° And Rising", "Beneath The Surface", " No Time Like The", Future", "Eleven" and the most recent "Bees + Things + Flowers". This album features new arrangements of four Incognito classics including "Always There", "Still A Friend Of Mine", "Everyday and Deep Waters" and covers of such great tunes as Roy Ayers' "Everybody Loves The Sunshine", Earth Wind & Fire's "That's The Way Of The World", "Summer In The City" and a sensational remake of America's "Tin Man". Additionally, the album contains three brand new Bluey compositions. Six tracks present a 16-piece string section and the skilled team of lead vocalists on this radio-friendly album is the powerful ever assembled for an Incognito album, Carleen Anderson, Jocelyn Brown, Maysa, Joy Rose, Imaani and Tony Momrelle.

Upon asking what makes the Incognito's music distinctive, Bluey says, "Distinctive is in the eyes or ears of the beholder. I mean what makes my music distinctive is the fact that is my story, it is told through me. We share many of the same emotions, we laugh, we cry, we live, we die and we act certain ways. For me, it is down to the fact that it is the one individual that is writing about it and producing it; that makes it sound different to any other person. It is their experience or the singers on that record, or even the lead instrumentalist. Apart from that it is all been done before hasn't it."

Bluey talks about future works of Incognito saying, "We are working on two albums right now. Two Incognito records - one is an acoustic album. I am also working with Tony Remy right now on the Tony Remy & Bluey project. Dance music doesn't have guitar orientated albums- it might have been George Benson for a little bit, but not that much full- on guitars; so we have one. We are halfway through it, so it should be done next summer."
