Background - Breeders Cup
The cup was a single day event until 2006. It was considered the richest day in sports then, with over $20 million on the table at the end of the day. As the cup has expanded the number of events, the Breeders Cup has begun selling tickets for two days of horse racing (beginning in 2007) with a payout of well over $20 million.
