Horse Racing Tickets
Horse racing is much more than the Sport of Kings (a Yahoo! Search on the subject suggests that might actually be polo). It is the equestrian competition inspiring women to wear fancy hats and men to dress like they should be drinking mint juleps. Horse racing tickets are most often associated with the Triple Crown.
The Triple Crown is comprised of the Kentucky Derby, the Preakness, and Belmont Stakes. The Kentucky Derby is held the first Saturday in May at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky and is a 1.25 mile track. This is the race that tends to get the most attention of the three. It is not all big hats and cocktails that have made this the biggest social event of the Big Three. It is also the race that determines just which horse will be attempting to become the next Triple Crown winner.
The Preakness occurs just two Saturdays later at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland on a 1.1875 mile course. Lastly, the Belmont Stakes follows three Saturdays later at the Belmont Park in Elmont, New York on the longest track of the three, at 1.5 miles. Overall, only 11 horses have claimed this prestigious horse racing title, but every year a new set of horse racing tickets provide the chance to see another equestrian added to the list.
