Background- High School Musical is a Disney Channel Original Movie released in the year 2006. The story revolves around Troy, who is a popular boy in the school and is also the captain of the basketball team and smart stunning academic Gabriella. Both of them decide to audition for the high school's musical and this shocks the members of the social cliques to which they belong They prove themselves to be excellent performers. High School Musical was also awarded the Emmy Award for Outstanding Children's Program , during the Creative Arts Emmy's. It shared the award with the HBO documentary I Have Tourette's But Tourette's Doesn't Have Me. High School Musical also won for the Outstanding Choreography in the Emmy Award. The director of High School Musical, Kenny Ortega was nominated for the Outstanding Directing for the 2006 Emmy Award for a Miniseries or Television Movie. Even the songs "Breaking Free" and "Get'cha Head In The Game" were also nominated for Emmy Awards for Outstanding Music and lyrics. It also received a TCA (Television Critics Association) award for Outstanding Achievement In Children's Programming. High School Musical won three Teen Choice awards for Choice Comedy/Musical, Best TV Chemistry (Zac Efron and Vanessa Anne Hudgens), and Choice Breakthrough Star (Zac Efron). Vanessa Anne Hudgens was also nominated for the Choice Breakthrough Star.
