Hellogoodbye
Hellogoodbye was formed by Huntington Beach High School students Forrest Kline and Jesse Kurvink in 2001 in Huntington Beach, California and is a power pop band. It started as a ska band and slowly turned pop. Their first song was Kurvink's "Bonnie Taylor Shakedown from 2006 and the song later appeared on their debut self-titled EP. The group played local shows at venues like The Hub (Fullerton, California), Chain Reaction (Anaheim, California) and Koo's Cafe (Santa Ana, California) and made a few trips to play in Arizona in the first two years and later, in 2003 they signed to Drive-Thru Records.

Artist Biography - Hellogoodbye
|
On August 17, 2004, hellogoodbye released a self-titled EP, which has sold over 400,000 copies. The band appeared on several episodes of MTV's The Real World: Austin, while participating at the music festival in Austin, Texas in the 2005, the South by Southwest. They released a DVD titled "OMG HGB DVD ROTFL" on November 22, 2005, which featured two hours of concert and touring footage and five music videos of their debut EP. The band won MTV2's Dew Circuit Breakout in December 2005, competing against Pete Miser and Tub Ring for a prize of $10,000, a set of Gibson equipment and an opening slot on an upcoming major U.S. tour.
