The Universal Orlando Resort for past many years has been hosting the famous Halloween Horror Nights which also in United States of America among the biggest Halloween events. The event is also presented sometimes in at the Universal Studios Hollywood.
The first Halloween Horror Nights was held in 1991 at Universal Orlando. But it was held as Fright Titles. In 1992 the name was changed to Halloween Horror Nights. In the initial years it was held for three nights. But later developed in a 19 night event. The event is held from late September till 31st October. In some past events it was extended to 1st and 2nd November. Universal Studios Florida was the venue for Halloween Horror Nights for ten years from 1991 to 2001. In 2002 it shifted to Islands of Adventure of Universal.
The first Halloween Night in 1991 known as Fright Titles had one haunted house but numerous shows for it like Cobra Woman, Chainsaw Massacre, The Human Impaler, Dragon Breath, Prince Dragon , The Gravediggers,
Magical Mania , Paul Revere & the Raiders, The Human Pincushion, Monster Mardi Gras Costume Contest,
Universal Science Band, Dr. Death, Iron Belly, and many other shows celebrating the event in grand style.
While the first event had just one haunted house in the later events there were seven haunted house and many more attractions. Many new and imaginative set pieces were added. Unlike other haunted events, the house designs are not used again by the Halloween Horror Nights. New ideas and new layouts are formulated by the creative team every year.
For the past so many years number of icons have been added to Halloween Horror Nights. The characters have big background stories and at times have been incorporate in the scarezones, theme and houses of Halloween Horror Nights. Cryptkeeper was the first unofficial mascot. It came from the "Tales from the Crypt" a famous television series in that period. After the series starting loosing its popularity on television there were thoughts for actual mascot.
In 2004 the haunted houses were Castle Vampyr, Hellgate Prison, Horror in Wax, Ghost Town, and scarzones being Fright Yard, Field of Screams, Point of Evil, Midway of the Bizarre.

Artist Biography - Halloween Horror Nights

 The 2005 Halloween Horror Nights was important for the event. It showed a background story about an evil queen ruling the land. The story incorporated every scarezone and house. The roles of the actors were shown and they were used by the queen. There were seven haunted houses such as Where Evil Hides, Terror Mines, The Skool, Cold Blind Terror, Demon Cantina , Body Collectors and Blood Ruins.
There were two shows Bill and Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure and The Terra Throne. And seven scarezones were such as South Hollow, Terra Guard Run, Blood Thunder Alley, North Hollow, Fire Pits and Cemetery Mines.
The 2006 Halloween Horror Nights was held in the Universal Studios Hollywood after six years. It began on 13th October and continued till the Halloween on selected days.
There were five scarezones Dawn of the Dead, Deadwood, Old London, Black Death, and Studio Center
The five shows in the 2006 Halloween Horror Nights were Chucky's Insult Emporium, Fear Factor Live: Dead Celebrity Edition, Carnival of Carnage, SlaughterWorld , and The Mutaytor .
While the haunted houses were Universal's House of Horrors, Terror Tram and The Asylum.
