Gregory Charles is a son of French Canadian women while his father is from Trinidad. His parents gave him good knowledge of art and music. His mother was herself an accomplished musician and played a very important role in the musical career of her son. At the age of seven Charles won his first national piano competition. He later became a wonderful classical concert pianist. Charles won many more competitions and represented his country on various occasions. Just at the age of 13 he played at the Carnegie Hall. A major milestone in the musical career of Gregory Charles came in 1998. He joined Celine Dion for a world tour 'Lets Talk bout Love' as a chorister as well as a pianist. It was two week tour but soon turned in a full year tour. In 1998 he also appeared at the Just for Laughs Festival held at Montreal. This was his first appearance out of nine appearances. He hosted a radio show on the Radio-Canada network which is aired weekly. His television credits include a show 'Culture Choc' in English and French. He also hosted a variety show on the France channel. He earlier conducted the Laval Gospel Choir which also included Marie-Christine Depestre. He is currently conducting the New World Choirs which includes The Little Singers of Laval and Northern Voices. In 2000 he toured with 'Two hand, Four Hands' in both French and English in US and Canada.
The greatest accomplishment of Charles has been the presentation of his first variety show 'Black and White". The show was watched by more than 200,000 spectators from Quebec and Canada.
