The band's song Nature Anthem could be heard in a coca-cola advertisement these days. Earlier this song could be heard in a Honda Civic Hybrid television commercial.

After the realease of Just Like the Fambly Cat in 2006, the band had some problem among themselves. In January 2006, Jason Lytle publicily announced that the band is spiltting up. After this announcement he had also gone on a solo tour, which confirms the news.

Another band member Jim Fairchild has realeased his solo album titled as All Smiles in April 2007. Aaron Burtch is now in a band called The Good Luck Thrift Store Outfit. The band's drummer David Burtch is Aaron's Brother.

Grandaddy is an indie rock group from United States. The band was culminated in 1992 by Jason Lytle (Singer, Guitarist and the Keyboard- Player), Kevin Garcia (Bassist) and Aaron Burtch (Drummer). In 1995 keyboard player Tim Dryden and guitarist Jim Fairchild joined the band.

In 1997, Grandaddy's first major album titled as "Under the Western Freeway" was released. There was some trouble of launching this album in America. So, it was first released in Europe. When it was released in USA lot of people liked the album and it was very much critically acclaimed.

In 2002, the song A.M. 180 from the album was featured in a British Film called 28 days later. The song is also used as a title track for BBC Four series called Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe .
