The cupboard isn't bare with 6'-9' sophomore Sean Mallon (5.8 ppg) and 6'-6' Erroll Knight (5.9 ppg) getting more playing time and shots. Both averaged roughly 16 minutes per game last season and played in over 28 games. Sophomore guard Derek Ravio will get more time, too. Gonzaga went 17-1 SU at home and 11-2 SU/9-4 ATS on the road!

Gonzaga opened last season with a 73-66 loss to St. Joe's as a favorite. Their next loss was to Stanford, 87-80, on the road. They also won 82-76 over Georgia of the SEC and won 82-68 at Maryland of the ACC as a +3 dog. For good measure, they also played Missouri of the Big 12, and won 87-80. Rebuilding, yes, but they will win more than they lose again (as usual).
How about these win totals the last seven seasons: 24, 28, 26, 26, 29, 23 and 28. Gonzaga (28-3 SU, 17-11 ATS) and coach Mark Few have made three trips to the Sweet Sixteen knowing how to win. Gonzaga likes to run-and-gun, averaging 82 points per game last season. Gonzaga had few weaknesses last year, as they shot 51% from the field, 76% from the charity stripe and 41% from three-point land.

However, it's rebuilding time, of sorts, as two of their three best players are gone in 6'-4' Blake Stepp (14 ppg, 7 apg) and 6'-8', senior Cory Violette (13 ppg, 8 rpg). They will build around 6'-9', 230-pound senior Ronny Turiaf (15 points, 6 boards per game, 53% shooter) who is a strong frontcourt player. Another key will be 6'-8' sophomore Adam Morrison, who averaged 11 points and 4.3 rebounds pg. Morrison was a Greater Spokane League Player of the Year.
