Turning Stone Resort Championship Tickets In only its third year, the Turning Stone Resort Championship is scheduled to be the first event on the PGA Tour's second tier Fall Series calendar, following the official FedEx Cup schedule of events which ends the season's Tour Championship. Due to a steady decline in the popularity of tournament golf when up against the big fall sports of NFL Football, the World Series, and NCAA Football, the PGA Tour created a two-tiered tournament golf event season. The first tier ends with the Tour Championship in Atlanta, and the Turning Stone Resort Championship is the first of seven Fall Series tournaments on the PGA Tour, with the series ending the first week of November at Disney World in Florida. The 2009 Turning Stone Resort Championship was chosen to be a part of the Kodak Challenge, a year-long competition which includes some of the most picturesque holes on the PGA Tour. The 11th hole at the Atunyote Golf Club was chosen to be included amongst the 24 designated holes that will challenge players during the Tour schedule.

 Golfers must play at least 18 of the 24 designated holes in order to compete in the challenge, and each competitor's lowest score relative to par on the challenge holes will be calculated, and the player with the lowest mark at the end of the season will receive $1 million. Turning Stone Resort Championship Tournament Director Ann Spencer has indicated that they are excited to be part of the Kodak Challenge, and thrilled that the 11th hole was selected as one of the most beautiful and memorable on the Tour; thinking golf fans will be intrigued by this new game within the game. The 11th hole at Atunyote measures approximately 230 yards, has water along the right side, and is one of the most demanding par three challenges on the PGA Tour; during the entire 2008 Turning Stone Resort Championship, allowing just 25 birdies, while forcing 92 bogeys and 16 double bogeys.
