Quail Hollow Championship Tickets Each year, during the first week of May, the Quail Hollow Championship brings the PGA Tour to Charlotte, North Carolina. Since its inauguration in 2003, the Championship rapidly become one of the top events on the Tour while serving as a principal fundraiser in support of youth education, helping to increase the potential of every child.
The Quail Hollow Championship has raised over $9.4 million for charity, becoming one of the most prestigious sporting events in the Charlotte area, and has been acknowledged as one of the top PGA Tour events. The majority of the charitable proceeds from the tournament benefit Teach for America.
The golf course at Quail Hollow Country Club opened June 3, 1961 with the opening of the clubhouse taking place in 1967. From 1969 to 1979 Quail Hollow hosted the PGA Tour's Kemper Open Invitational Golf Tournament, and in 1985 golf legend Arnold Palmer modified holes 3, 7, 9 and 17. The course then underwent reconstruction by Tom Fazio in 1997, with clubhouse renovations soon to follow in 2000. In May 2003 the PGA Tour returned to Quail Hollow where the Championships have been held each year since.

 From 2004–06, the Quail Hollow Championship ended in a playoff, and additionally, the event is known to have one of the tougher finishes on the PGA Tour, with holes 16, 17, and 18 often ranked among the Tour's toughest holes.
In 2009, the tournament had a $6.5 million purse with Sean O-Hair taking the winner's share of $1.17 million.
A spring day spent on the Quail Hollow grounds is a good day whether you're catching a few practice rounds or watching the actual Championship. With ticket packages for all price points and enthusiast levels, make plans to spend a day at the course some time during April 26-May 2, 2010.
