The Legends Reno-Tahoe Open takes place annually during the same week as the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational; its first three years, the Tahoe Open had a full field of 156 players, while the World Golf Championship event had a field of about 40, but when the Bridgestone expanded to about 80 players in 2002, the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open's field was reduced to 132 players. The 2009 event concluded with John Rollins as the winner and taking home the champion's prize of $540,000. Additionally, in its short history, the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open already has one two-time winner, Vaughn Taylor, who won back-to-back tournaments in 2004 and 2005.
