Background - Honda Classic Tickets
In 2007 the Honda Classic moved to the Champions Course at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, which is where the tournament currently remains. In the early days of the Honda Classic, the host course was the East Course at the Inverrary Golf and Country Club in Lauderhill, and included "Inverrary" as part of the tournament's name from 1972 through 1983. Other host courses in Honda Classic history include TPC Eagle Trace in Coral Springs, Weston Hills Golf and Country Club in Fort Lauderdale, TPC Heron Bay in Coral Springs, and the Country Club at Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens.
The Honda Classic debuted on the PGA Tour in 1972 as Jackie Gleason's Inverrary Classic; Inverrary being the name of the host course. Gleason's name remained part of the title until 1980, and Inverrary until 1983.
Winning in 1977 and 1978, Jack Nicklaus is the only back-to-back Honda Classic champion. Both consecutive wins were notable; in 1977 he beat Gary Player by five strokes, still the largest margin of victory in this event, and in 1978 he won by finishing with five consecutive birdies which is a PGA Tour record for most consecutive birdies to finish and win a tournament.
Before The Players Championship settled into its permanent home at TPC Sawgrass, it rotated among courses, and in 1976 it took place Inverrary. Jack Nicklaus won the TPC that year, and is therefore credited with three Honda Classic wins on the tourney's official website. However, that 1976 victory was in The Players Championship and not the Inverrary Classic, so official PGA Tour records list the Inverrary Classic as "not played" by Nicklaus in 1976.

 Tom Weiskopf won the first playing of the Honda Classic in 1972, edging the Golden Bear by a stroke; one of three runner-up finishes for Jack Nicklaus. Payne Stewart finished second in the Honda Classic five times without ever having won. Aside from Nicklaus, the other 2-time winners of this tournament are Johnny Miller in 1980 and 1983, and Mark Calcavecchia in 1987 and 1998.
In his 2005 Honda Classic victory, Padraig Harrington opened with a round of 73 and closed with a 63, thereby setting two tournament records; highest first-round score by a winner, and lowest final-round score by a winner.
