For the 11th consecutive year, the Salesmanship Club of Dallas has increased the Championship purse, resulting in one of the largest purses on the PGA TOUR. The prize money represents a $400,000 increase over 2004. The champion will earn more than $1 million for the third straight year.

"Offering one of the highest purses on the TOUR allows us to provide our spectators and sponsors with an exciting Championship every year."
The EDS Byron Nelson Championship, the only PGA TOUR tournament named after a professional golfer, annually provides more money to charity than any other stop on the PGA TOUR. The 2004 Championship donated $6.09 million to the Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers (SCYFC).
