As a child Gary Jules attended The Bishop's School situated in La Jolla, California. Gary Jules (born in 1969 in Fresno, California as Gary Jules Aguirre) is an American singer. He attended The Bishop's School in La Jolla, California. Gary Jules later did his B.A. From the University of California, Los Angeles. Some of his early projects were Our Town Pansies, Woodenfish, The Ivory Knights, and The Origin.

Gary Jules has got the opportunity to take up guitar lessons with the great John Lennon. In fact, he learnt the basics of playing the electric guitar from Lennon. By the time Gary Jules reached high school he alongwith childhood friend Michael Andrews formed an early incarnation of their band "Origin". The band signed to Virgin Records and recorded two early-'90s albums. However, Gary Jules left the band and moved to Los Angeles. Gary Jules enrolled himself at UCLA, and formed a band named "Kofi". Gary Jules performed with the band for some time and then moved to San Diego. In San Diego, Gary Jules formed another band entitled "Ourtown Pansies". The band locally released some CDs before got disbanded in 1992. Gary Jules returned to San Fransisco.

Gary Jule's former band "Origin" wad already relocated there. When that band broke up, Gary Jules and Michael Andrews began to play and record together. During that period Gary Jules wrote numerous songs. In 1995, Michael Andrews returned to San Diego for playing with the Greyboy Allstars. Gary Jules began to make frequent visits to Los Angeles to get a record deal.

Good days were just waiting for Gray Jules. Zeke Piestrup, a DJ and former highschool roommate of Jules, introduced Jules to the famous A&M Records. Eventually, Jules got a contract to record for them. Jules's album"Metro Ride" was released under the A&M Records. However, A&M disappeared from the commercial scene. But Gary Jules managed to compose the soundtrack of the movie "Digging to China".

In 2001, Gary Jules self-released "Trading Snakeoil for Wolftickets". The album got solid distribution in Australia and Europe. The album became a huge hit. In 2004, Gary Jules went on his UK and Scotland tour and received rave reviews at each concert.
