Football, the American version, is a game played with 11 men on each side with the intent of moving the ball across the goal line. This is a battle played out on a field that is 100-yards long by moving the football on the ground and through the air. It is a sport that may just be the most popular in the United States, with millions following the professional and college game and spending hard earned money on football tickets to enjoy it live.

The top professional level is National Football League and the biggest game of the year is the Super Bowl. There are a few other leagues, but they are filled with players hoping to at least see one game in the NFL, even if it just a preseason game.

The top college level is Division 1-A. This is a division undergoing a revolution. It is moving ever closer to a playoff system. Currently, it is finding a way to integrate its long history of bowl games with the drive for a playoff system. This has some traditional fans concerned, but it will not keep them from following their team and hoping they emerge the champion, whether that honor is determined by votes or by a couple rounds of postseason games.
