The Foo Fighters began as a one-man project by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, embarked in the wake of Kurt Cobain's suicide and the ensuing breakup of Nirvana. Grohl had written songs while apart of Nirvana, but felt intimidated because of the reverence he had for Cobain. Once the tragedy passed in 1994, Grohl took to the studio and recorded every part of the self-titled debut Foo Fighter (he took the name for the nickname given to UFOs by World War II pilots) himself. It was only when he needed to fill the stage for Foo Fighters concerts that he recruited an outfit. Initially, that Foo Fighter touring outfit consisted of singer and guitarist Grohl, bass player Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith of the recently disbanded Sunny Day Real Estate, and Nirvana touring guitarist Pat Smear. Overtime, personal ambitions and conflicts within the group have altered the lineup. Currently, the band is comprised of lead singer and guitarist Grohl, bassist Mendel, guitarist Smear, guitarist Chris Shiflett, and drummer Taylor Hawkins. Despite the lineup alterations, the Foo Fighters have remained a top selling and touring rock act. Three of the six albums have won the Grammy for Best Rock Album and all six have been nominated. There is Nothing Left to Lose (2001), One by One (2004), and Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace (2008) are the winning albums and Foo Fighters (1995), The Colour and the Shape (1997), and In Your Honor (2005) have been honored to be nominated. As popular as the Foo Fighters are, as many top ten singles this group has recorded (including "This is a Call", "Learn to Fly", "All My Life", "Best of You", and "The Pretender"), the band is not one to consistently tour, making any chance to obtain Foo Fighters concert tickets one fans must take. OnlineSeats will have those Foo Fighters tickets to see this incredible rock band live, just check the tour schedule and find the concert date and venue nearest you.
