Foo Fighters Tickets for Sale
Foo Fighters tickets were available for the first time in three years earlier this spring with a brief spring tour this May and will continue to be available for a late summer tour and a short fall tour schedule. The Foo Fighters concerts this summer will be hitting markets previous tours have missed. There were no New York, Chicago, or Los Angeles dates, but there were stops in Tulsa, Memphis, Missoula, MT, and a few music festival dates as the group began its first leg of promotions for the album Wasting Light. The early fall tour will take the Foo Fighters tour up and down the West Coast from October 9th to November 14th, 2011. Those tour datese will includes stops north of the border in Vancouver and south of the border in major cities like Denver, San Deigo, and Phoenix. Cage the Elephant and Mariachi el Bronx will be joining the Foo Fighters on the at early fall leg of the tour.
Foo Fighters tickets are going overseas for the first few summer months, beginning in Milano at the Fiero Di Milano on June 15, 2011 and traversing the continent and the British with a total of six concert dates through the beginning of July.
Then Foo Fighters tickets return to North America with a performance at Lollapalooza on August 5, 2011 before headlining out on a 12 concert date tour schedule running from August 9th to September 26th that will hit more traditional destinations like Toronto and Montreal north of the border and Detroit, Pittsburgh, and New York in the U.S. OnlineSeats has Foo Fighters tickets to all these performances for the best prices on the secondary ticket market, so be sure to check out Dave Grohl and the boys as they perform new singles like "Rope" and close out the shows with an encore performance of one of the band's many hits (personally I'd like to see "Best of You" or "All My Life").
The Foo Fighters began as a one-man project by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, embarked in the wake of Kurt Cobain's suicide and the ensuing breakup of Nirvana. Grohl had written songs while apart of Nirvana, but felt intimidated because of the reverence he had for Cobain. Once the tragedy passed in 1994, Grohl took to the studio and recorded every part of the self-titled debut Foo Fighter (he took the name for the nickname given to UFOs by World War II pilots) himself. It was only when he needed to fill the stage for Foo Fighters concerts that he recruited an outfit.
Initially, that Foo Fighter touring outfit consisted of singer and guitarist Grohl, bass player Nate Mendel and drummer William Goldsmith of the recently disbanded Sunny Day Real Estate, and Nirvana touring guitarist Pat Smear. Overtime, personal ambitions and conflicts within the group have altered the lineup. Currently, the band is comprised of lead singer and guitarist Grohl, bassist Mendel, guitarist Smear, guitarist Chris Shiflett, and drummer Taylor Hawkins.
Despite the lineup alterations, the Foo Fighters have remained a top selling and touring rock act. Three of the six albums have won the Grammy for Best Rock Album and all six have been nominated. There is Nothing Left to Lose (2001), One by One (2004), and Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace (2008) are the winning albums and Foo Fighters (1995), The Colour and the Shape (1997), and In Your Honor (2005) have been honored to be nominated.
As popular as the Foo Fighters are, as many top ten singles this group has recorded (including "This is a Call", "Learn to Fly", "All My Life", "Best of You", and "The Pretender"), the band is not one to consistently tour, making any chance to obtain Foo Fighters concert tickets one fans must take. OnlineSeats will have those Foo Fighters tickets to see this incredible rock band live, just check the tour schedule and find the concert date and venue nearest you.
