Fluttr Effect will enchant you with their magnificent command over musical language as they have got a burning electronic marimba player. They can swing the odd meter, can be intricate as the Mahavishnu Orchestra, as heavy as the King Crimson, as eccentric as early Eno as majestic as Dead Can Dance and also beautiful like the Cocteau Twins. The quartet plays so well that the individual will capture the attention of the audiences with their fashionable art-rock.
Fluttr started in the year 2002 with Troy Kidwell on guitar and vocals, Jason Marchionna on drums, Vessela Stoyanova on MIDI marimba, and Valerie Thompson on electric cello. A few months later, Kara Trott, saw the group's performance in the Rasputina and she was so enthralled by the show that she decided to join in the group as the new lead singer. With their dedication and enchanting songs, the band developed their fan base in England. They were asked to perform in a number of shows. In the year 2004, Fluttr Effect competed in the Emergenza Music Festival. They also performed at the National Finals at the Avalon, representing the Northeast, where they not only picked up new bands but also met some famous bands too, from around the country. Fluttr performed as the U.S. finalist in front of a crowd of 30,000 at the Taubertal Music Festival in Germany and also wont the show.

Artist Biography - Fluttr Effect

 In the year 2004, the band released their first full-length cd, Trithemis Festival and changed their name to Fluttr Effect. After this release, they embarked upon extensive tour. The toured in the U.S. And Canada, capturing more and more fans and also their particular brand of "thinkrock", the music which is all about smart, haunting and unrelenting rock music. In the 2006, the girls released Swallows and Sparrows as the Fluttr Effect Trio. It has more acoustic sound, they also exposed the fragile under layers of their songs through marimba, cello and vocals. This EP also features new instrumental compositions and also new arrangements of songs from Trithemis Festival and Marking Time. Not only this, Fluttr Effect was also one of the three acts who were chosen for a two-week tour of England in the spring of 2006 with CMEAS. In the same year, they released their second full-length cd, Marking Time which is a tapestry, beautiful and playful instrumentation, a finely woven album of complex and insistent vocals. It has ushered into the world the musical talents of Fluttr Effect's. The band has taken enough pains for the making of this album such touring, performing of the tracks to the funding, engineering and also the design of the cd.
This Boston based quintet have been moving from progressive rock to gothic metal to Irish folk to trip-hop to Top 40 pop throughout the Marking Time's 11 tracks. They have also featured on the American Top 40 radio with their bouncy locals, keyboard melody and downright dance-worthiness.
