Fall Out Boy
Fall Out Boy has taken the lyrics of Pete Wentz and the melodies of Patrick Stump and created a national sensation in a genre that lands somewhere between Punk Rock and Emo. The group began in the Chicago suburb of Wilmette where lead guitarist Jo Trohman and bassist Pete Wentz found each other after playing in punk groups throughout the area. They recruited lead singer and rhythm guitarist Patrick Stump after an overheard conversation and originally played with T.J. Kunasch and Mike Pareskuwicz. Fall Out Boy had a little over half the group together in 2003 that would eventually go on to sell thousands of albums and concert tickets.
After releasing a mini-album, the group lost Kunasch and Pareskuwicz, but gained Andrew Hurley as the drummer. The played concerts at the local Knights of Columbus Hall in Arlington Heights and found their way to a label deal with Fueled by Ramen. Under the new label, Fall Out Boy released their first full-length album, Take This to Your Grave (2003). This album landed them a spot on the roster of major label Island Records. With the new financing the group hoped to sell albums and concert tickets, but that kind of mainstream success would still be a major album away.
From Under the Cork Tree propelled Fall Out Boy to the beginnings of national acclaim, debuting at number nine on the Billboard 200. The album was driven by the popularity of music videos for "Sugar, We're Goin Down" and "Dance, Dance." The group was able to earn a place on the Nintendo Fusion Tour and start selling concert tickets in 2005.

 The major label debut earned them a Grammy Award nomination in 2006 for Best New Artist, and soon went double platinum. The release of Infinity on High in 2007 topped the U.S. charts and followed up as a platinum album. Fall Out Boy has continued to tour with each release, and the latest release, Folie a Deux, has spawned the Believers Never Die Part Deux tour. The concert schedule takes the band and several supporting acts across the country to sell tickets in 30 cities.
