Eric Johnson
This great artist developed his talent at a very tender age as he was born and brought up in a musically inclined family. He along with his three sisters studied piano. Even his father known to be an Austin physician was a singing enthusiast. Johnson picked up the guitar when he was just 11. He took up music lessons from his influences: including Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Wes Montgomery, and Django Reinhardt.
He joined the band when he was just 15 and started playing on his guitar while experimenting with the highs and lows of the strings and chords.

Eric Johnson, a Grammy Award winning guitarist and a well known recording artist was born on August 17, 1954. This man of versatile talent hails from Austin, Texas. He gained immense fame for his success in the instrumental rock format. His continuous experimentations with jazz, fusion, New Age, and even country and western elements into his recordings has polished his output and has made him a star standing in the top category of music arena.
His height of talent could be gauged from the very fact that even the Guitar Player magazine called Johnson "One of the most respected guitar virtuosos on the planet". His talent knows no full stops and commas as he is going without brakes to come up with something new. He composes and plays not only instrumental songs, but also enjoys singing and playing piano.
He has marked his presence in the musical world for his unmatched guitar skills. The great maestros of the musical world have appreciated his unique stylistic diversity blended with technical proficiency. Some of them include Carlos Santana, Prince, BB King, Joe Satriani and the late Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Johnson won the Grammy award for the single "Cliffs of Dover" from his platinum selling 1990 recording Ah Via Musicom. This was in the year 1991 and he won the award for Best Rock Instrumental Performance.
With his genre in instrumental Rock and Vocal Rock, he trusted in his notable guitars like Fender Stratocaster, Gibson ES-335, Fender Eric Johnson Signature Stratocaster and signature Martin acoustic.
