In the year 2006 Emiliana Torrini won many awards, which increased her fame manifold. She was nominated for the Icelandic Music Awards in Reykjavik. She was nominated in four categories : Pop Album of the Year, Song of the Year for the single "Sunnyroad", Singer of the Year and Video of the Year. She picked up awards in three categories except for the award for Song of the Year.

Apart from her solo career, she has also lent her voice to many other famous bands. She is a member of a popular band from Iceland named "GusGus". She sang the single "Why" in their debut album "Polydistortion" which was released in 1997. The single "Why" is still fondly listened to by audiences the world over. She has also shared the stage with some of the greatest singers in the music scene today. She co-wrote Kylie Minogue's single "Slow" in 2003. She not only co-wrote the track but also worked in tandem with Dan Carey to produce the song. Emiliana Torrini Daví?sdóttir is one of the best female singers in the world. She is one of the most popular and sought after female singers in the music scene. She won the hearts of millions of listeners with her album "Love in the Time of Science". This amazing artist born on May 16, 1977, hails from Iceland. She spent her formative years in a town near Reykjavik. When she was only 7 years old, she became a part of the choir as a soprano. She sang in the choir till the age of 15, and then took another major step to advance her career in music when she went to opera school.

In the year 1994 she achieved another milestone in her career when she won the junior college sing competition in Iceland. 1994 to 1996 are the glorious years of her career. In these years she released three hugely successful albums which put her on the world map as a force to reckon with. She released the album titled "Spoon" in 1994 to world wide praise. Her second album "Crouçie d'Où La" released in 1995. The album "Merman" released in 1996 completed her successful hattrick.
