Ellie Goulding Tickets for Sale
Born in Hereford, England, Ellie Goulding later moved to the country’s east coast to study theater at the University of Kent. She had discovered and fallen in love with folk music as a teenager and was exposed to electronica while attending university. After just two years, she decided to take a break from school and moved to West London to pursue a career as a singer/songwriter where she met producers like Starsmith and Frankmusik who gave her songs an electro-pop sound. Goulding began to build fans via the internet in 2009 where her early songs “Starry Eyed” and a cover of Sam Sparro’s “Black and Gold” were posted on MP3 blog sites. Record label offers ensued and she choose to ink a deal with Polydor Records which released her debut album Lights in March 2010.
Having topped the U.K. charts in its first week with “Starry Eyed” as a Top Five single, the album was re-released later that year globally with seven new songs, including a cover of Elton John’s “Your Song” which peaked at Number Two. Goulding’s sophomore album Halcyon (2012) featured an even more exploratory electro-pop sound and the following year was re-released with 10 new songs as Halcyon Days featuring “Burn” and “How Long Will I Love You” which became two of her biggest hits.
While her voice is very soft and shy-like, it is Goulding’s lyrics in her songs that draws fans in and showcases her immense talent as an artist. She has the ability to evoke emotions through her songs that many artists in her same genre and generation just can’t do.
