The thrilling new release builds on the groundwork arranged with Obsession, the record Metal Hammer acclaimed as the album of the year. The band toured heavily in support of the disc, fiercely up on stateside runs with Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, HIM and the Warped Tour, before crossing the Atlantic for a barnstorming tour of the UK with Lostprophets. But for the band, who have formulated a diehard international following with three explosive indie albums (Until The Ink Runs Out, Lifeless, Vanity) and a vituperative live show, Obsession turned out to be both an ending and a beginning, closing out its early days while pointing the way toward its evolution. They nailed their target with EIGHTEEN VISIONS, a blast-furnace mix of shriveled riffs, crisp melodies and rich lyrical images. At the heart of the albums volcanic sound is Hartan expressive vocalist who lends emotional depth to songs that slash and burn. The record renders interminable highlights, including the sensational and hook-ridden lead single Tonightless. Harts aspirations are mirrored throughout the entire album, which is easily Eighteen Visions most diverse selection of material to date. The most distinct example of the groups desire to push at the boundaries of heavy rock is the rhapsodic Brokenhearted, an intoxicatingly bittersweet song about lost love.

Their debut release was the "Lifeless" EP on Life Sentence Records. They followed this with a full-length album titled "Yesterday Is Time Killed" on Cedargate Records. Upon switching to Trustkill Records, they recorded their 2000 album Until The Ink Runs Out. For their next album, "Best Of", the band re-recorded much of their earlier, out of print, material. The music style of the band changed a lot since their 2002 debut "Vanity", which birthed a music video single for "You Broke Like Glass" which played in heavy rotation via MTV2's Headbangers Ball. Eighteen Visions then released "Obsession" in 2004 which would be their last album for Trustkill Records. On July 18 they released a self-titled album through Epic Records. Their single "Victim" has been climbing the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks, and was the official theme song of WWE Vengeance this year.

Eighteen Visions, short for 18V was founded in 1996 by James Hart and Ken Floyd (who then played drums), the only members of the original line-up still performing with the band. In 2004, when Eighteen Visions released Obsession, Revolver magazine congratulated and gave the kudos to the group as one of a select few that signify the future of American metal. The tag was perfect for a band thats always emancipated itself from genre limitations. Two years later, and a road demanded them to revitalize, and Eighteen Visions have immersed back with focus delineated and a monumental album that puts them light years ahead of the pack. The self-titled EIGHTEEN VISIONS is a huge leap forward in certainty, music and variety.
