Eels is an American rock band founded by Mark Oliver Everett along with Jonathan "Butch" Norton & Tommy Walter. Everett is known as E. Eels , the name was chosen as to keep the band's alphabetical order next to his solo records. This band launched its debut album,Beautiful Freak, in 1996. This album was recorded in a deal with Steven Spielberg's Dreamworks. Beautiful Freak was a collection of songs full of pain and sadness with pop record that really anguished his radiance. "Novocaine for the Soul" and "Susan's House" brought humble success for the band. This album was criticized including hip-hop & stains. The band members toured in 1996 & 1997 in the US & Europe performing many festivals and live shows to support their album. Tommy Walter left the band in September 1997.

E had a bad phase of his personal life after Beautiful Freak. He saw his father dead, sister committing suicide. His mother was having lung cancer. He was inspired by his ill fate and events of life to write Electro-Shock Blues. With the contributions of Jon Brion, Dust Brother Michael Simpson, and T-Bone Burnett, this painful album was released in 1998. The songs in this album were all dipped in feelings of death, pain, suicide. Though it is painful and dark album but still working many fans' favorite. Another single of the band, "Cancer for the Cure" was used as a soundtrack for the movie "American Beauty".

Less than 6 months after the release of Electro-Shock Blues, Daisies Of The Galaxy was finished. It was released in 2000. It was a much healthy and happier work from Eels. This album was almost completely recorded in E's basement. Soon Grant Lee Phillips Michael Simpson, Peter Buck joined E. Simpson helped E in writing the first single "Mr. E's Beautiful Blues". This song was insisted to be included though it was not intended to be added in the album. Later this song featured on the Road Trip & in the opening credits of the film A Guy Thing. Another tour was arranged to promote the album Daisies Of The Galaxy, across US & Europe.
Sorry, no upcoming events found at this time.
The album "SoulJacker" even darker than electro-shock blues, was released in September 2001. The idea for this album came to E's mind when he was working for electro-shock blues and got some time for meditation. Inspired from a serial killer in California who not only jacked the life but souls also, he decided to record this album. SoulJacker was crowned as one of the best records of the year by Times Magazine & Album of the Year by London's SUNDAY TIMES.

The latest album by Eels called Blinking Lights and Other Revelations was released on April 26, 2005. This album was released with the new label Vagrant Records. The album received a great success and labeled as finest of the Eels. With the contributions of Tom Waits, Peter Buck and John Sebastian from The loving' Spoonful, this album gathered name and fame for Eels. The tour in support of Blinking Lights and Other Revelations resulted in a live album Eels with Strings: Live at Town Hall, recorded in New York City.
