‘Eatonville’ is a city of Pierce County in Washington, the USA. It is believed that Indian Henry guided the founder of this city Thomas C. Van Eaton in 1889 from Mashell Prairie to the present site of Eatonville.

This region became a trading post over the centuries. Its earlier settlers built the first school of this town in 1891, which is still functional. This city became a rendezvous for the visitors to Mount Rainier for years. The Tacoma Eastern Railroad arrived here in 1902. It provided freight and passenger services besides a vital link to Tacoma. Several small mills sprang up in its vicinity after the arrival of railroads. The Wildlife park of Northwest Trek was opened here, which is now considered one of the most popular tourist attractions of this region.

Eatonville was officially incorporated on October 28, 1909. By then Eatonville Lumber Company had already established itself here. It offered opportunity for countless masses to work in its mills. The mill was closed down in 1954. This closure was a biggest setback for this city. The city has been growing steadily since then. It became home to the Concrete manufacturing plant recently.

According to 2000 census, Eatonville has 2,012 inhabitants, 748 households and 542 families. Its population density is 1,176.4 people per square mile. It has 805 housing units at an average density of 470.7/sq mi. Its racial makeup is 91.35% Whites, 0.25% African Americans, 0.75% Native Americans, 0.80% Asians, 0.65% Pacific Islanders, 2.24% from other races. 3.98% are from two or more races. Its Hispanic race is 4.62%.

Out of its 748 households, 38.9% are children under the age of 18, who reside with them, 56.8% are married couples living together, 11.8% has a female householder without husband and 27.5% of them are non-families. 22.7% of all the households are made up of individuals and 11.2% has someone living alone and 65 years of age or above. This city has manageable sex ratio at 94.2 males for every 100 females. It has 89.0 males for every 100 females aged 18 and above.
