Census-designated place cum hamlet of ‘East Quogue’ is situated in Suffolk County of New York in the USA. It is part of the Southampton Town.

Suffolk County is located in New York State. According to 2000 census this county has the population of 1,419,369. It was named after the Suffolk County in England, from which its earliest settlers had migrated. Suffolk and Nassau counties together are often referred to as ‘Long Island’ by its local residents. It is the easternmost county in New York State and the New York Metropolitan Area.

This county was a county of New York State as one of the twelve created in 1683. Its boundaries were the same as at present with one minor change with its western neighbor that was originally Queens County but since 1899 has been Nassau County. Efforts have been done to split east end of the county off into a new county named Peconic County.

As per the US Census Bureau statistics, it has a total area of 11.8 square miles, of which 10.3 square miles is land and 1.5 square miles is water. According to 2000 census, its population is 4,265 people, 1,660 households and 1,133 families. Its population density is 414.2 per square mile. There are 2,465 housing units at an average density of 239.4/sq mi. Its racial makeup is 95.26% Whites, 0.70% African Americans, 0.07% Native Americans, 0.70% Asians, 0.02% Pacific Islanders, 0.96% from other races and 2.27% from two or more races. Its Hispanic or Latino race is 5.39% of the total population.

The place has 1,660 households, out of which 31.9% has children under the age of 18 living with them, 57.0% are married couples living together, 7.3% has female bread earner without husband and 31.7% are non-families. 24.9% of all the households are made up of individuals and 9.6% has someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. Its sex ratio is 98.3 males for every 100 females. It has 97.8 males for every 100 females aged 18 and above.
