‘East Peoria’ is a city in Tazewell County of Illinois. It is part of the suburb area of Peoria in Illinois Metropolitan Statistical Area of the USA. It is home to many Caterpillar Inc. facilities including the main campus of the Peoria area community college and Illinois Central College amongst others.

The city has progressed over the period. A new Embassy Suites hotel complex has been developed recently. The Par-a-Dice Hotel and Casino in this city is located at the banks of the Illinois River. It is a popular luxury waterfront condominium complex of this city. East Peoria and its adjacent Downtown Peoria have developed many hotel chains and restaurants.

As per the US Census Bureau statistics, this city has a total area of 21.0 square miles, of which 18.8 square miles is land and 2.2 square miles is water area. According to 2000 census, this city has 22,638 inhabitants, 9,478 households and 6,397 families. Its population density is 1,203.4 people per square mile. It has 9,938 housing units at an average density of 528.3/sq mi. Its racial makeup is 97.32% Whites, 0.47% African Americans, 0.24% Native Americans, 0.66% Asians, 0.01% Pacific Islanders, 0.44% from other races and 0.86% from two or more races. Its Hispanic or Latino race is 1.29% of the entire population.

Out of its 9,478 households, 28.1% has children under the age of 18, who reside with them, 54.7% are married couples living together, 9.2% has a female householder without the presence of husband and 32.5% are non-families. Its 28.2% households are made up of individuals and 12.9% has someone living alone who is of 65 years of age or above. The average household of this city is 2.35 and the average family size is 2.87.

The sex ratio of this city is 93.2 males for every 100 females, whereas it has 90.3 males for every 100 females aged 18 and above.
