Duelo is not at all nonchalant, selling tickets to their local fans was never enough and hence they set off to work on their international debut, "El Amor No Acaba". Fans buy tickets to this Mexican band. As is with Mexican Norteño bands, Duelo (which also is a Norteño band) uses the accordion and the bajo sexto. Duelo, is also known as Grupo Duelo and Duelo Norteño.

Grupo Duelo began when Oscar Treviño(singer/songwriter) and Dimas López(accordionist) performed together in local pubs and events together as Duelo Norteño. The duo would later be joined by Juan Barrera(drums), Edgar Rodriguez (percussionist) and Cristián Rivera on bass guitars. Oliver Treviño joined the band and started singing/writing when he was only 19.

Grupo Duelo is not a cookie-cutter produced band. Duelo are not like their Norteño predecessors, in the sense that they are not as hardcore as they were. Previous norteño bands are Los Tigres del Norte, Los Rieleros del Norte, Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Los Huracanes del Norte, and Oro Norteño. Their music is softer and lyrics more emotional than what is exoected from say, Los Rieleros del Norte, Los Tucanes de Tijuana or Los Huracanes. Grupo Duelo's music is raw, earthy, stripped down and thank god there is none of that studio-enhanced voices. Grupo Duelo have had a variety of Latin pop hits. Another great quality about Grupo Duelo is that they have never compromised or been overpowered by some producer. They write, play their own music. It is wonderful to listen to Oliver Treviño who at such a young age never overdoes his singing but always seems to be in control. Not exactly the kind of band who over-markets and over-advertises their albums because their talent alone will shout louder than any ploy or gimmick anyone could muster up. Nevertheless, they manage to get their sentiments across the listener. Though they fall under norteño, the band's uniqueness does not allow them to be slotted in one small category. Therefore, in many occasions they have been known to flirt with duranguense to mariachi. Their albums are released under "Univision Music".
