Drive By Truckers now consists of Mike Cooley, Patterson Hood, John Neff, Brad Morgan, and Jay Gonzalez, but the band has a history of rotating band mates, as evident by its long list of ex-band members. The group began back in 1996 when Patterson Hood and Mike Cooley founded a group of their own years of playing together. In fact, the two had formed a duo in the early 1990s, but ultimately broke up. Then, Hood moved to Atlanta and began his next stage of musical exploration, intending to recruit Cooley once again. These two became the only two focal points of a group of otherwise rotating musicians. They put out three studio albums that would be re-released – Gangstability, Pizza Deliverance, and Southern Rock Opera. It is the last of these albums that signaled the true rise in maturity of this band. Drive By Truckers had become a tight, touring unit and the double album told the story of Lynyrd Skynyrd, drawing rave review from critics. From this point on, Drive By Truckers became that underground sensation every music junkie in the know raved about. The albums actually began to appear on the Billboard 200, beginning with the Dirty South in 2004. Finally, by 2010, Drive By Truckers had earned international acclaim, posted chart positions on the UK charts with The Big To-Do and every addition to the discography. OnlineSeats continues to have these Drive By Trucker concert tickets for every concert date on each tour.
